What to bring to your appointments
Please bring the following with you:
A current GP referral
Your Medicare card
Private health insurance details (if applicable)
Copies of recent blood, urine and imaging results
List of current medications
You are welcome to bring a support person (family or friend) to your appointment.
What to expect if you are going to have surgery
Surgery is often a time that can be incredibly stressful for the patient and the family. Dr. Ned Kinnear and his team are here to ensure you are safe to receive surgery, the best surgical options available, and excellent post-operative care.

Prior to your procedure, Dr. Ned Kinnear’s organised team will contact you to:
Confirm any medications that you need to withhold. This mainly relates to any blood thinners or diabetes medications.
Provide fasting instructions (for most procedures, you will be asked not to eat or drink for 6 hours before your scheduled admission time).

Please present to the hospital admissions area at the instructed time.
You will be admitted and transferred to theatre. You will see your surgeon in the holding area and meet your anaesthetist prior to your surgery.
At the completion of the operation, Dr. Ned Kinnear can contact your nominated next of kin or support person if you wish.

If you are staying overnight, you will be reviewed on the ward prior to discharge.
You will be provided with clear discharge instructions and postoperative information.
A follow up appointment will be arrange for you.

Our consultation fees
Consultation fees are payable in full on the day of your appointment. Medicare rebates are available where a valid GP referral is in place at the time of consultation. Payment by EFTPOS is preferred; however, bank transfer and cash are also accepted. We are happy to submit Medicare claims on your behalf and arrange for rebates to be paid directly into your nominated bank account.
Procedural costs and other fees involved
Dr. Ned Kinnear and his team are committed to minimising out-of-pocket costs for our patients. For our procedures, a gap fee will apply reflecting the specialist training, expertise, and resources required.
Please note that fees charged by hospital, pathology and radiology providers, as well as any out-of-pocket costs from anaesthetists, are determined independently and are outside of our control.
