Hi, I’m Dr. Ned Kinnear
Dr. Ned Kinnear is an Australian-trained, specialist urological surgeon with international fellowships in reconstructive and oncological urology using minimally invasive techniques including robotic surgery.
He has received multiple awards and is a highly accomplished researcher. He is actively involved in training urology registrars, and is a titleholder with Adelaide University.
Dr Kinnear aims to deliver the highest levels of evidence-based care, tailored to the individual needs of the patient. He enjoys taking the time to understand his patients and explain their options in a way that is comprehensive yet easy to follow.
Dr Kinnear is happy to take phone calls from general practitioners and other referrers to discuss patients.

Surgical experience
Dr Kinnear completed his urological training in teaching hospitals across Victoria and South Australia, accredited by the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand. Pursuing his interest in minimally invasive surgery, he was selected for the competitive robotic oncology surgical fellowship at Lister Hospital, United Kingdom, accredited by the Royal College of England, gaining expertise in robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy, robotic-assisted partial nephrectomy and robotic-assisted pyeloplasty.
Dr Kinnear has performed over 3,000 procedures, including over 200 robotic operations.
Reconstructive and functional urology
To better cater to patients in Adelaide and South Australia with urethral strictures, erectile dysfunction and urinary incontinence, Dr Kinnear undertook a second fellowship, in Functional & Reconstructive Urology at Rockyview General Hospital and the University of Calgary, Canada.. This focused on developing high-level surgical skills in:
Buccal mucosal graft urethroplasty
Artificial urinary sphincter
Advance sling
ATOMS sling
Implantable penile prosthesis and erectile dysfunction
Kidney stones
Dr Kinnear has a strong interest in helping patients with kidney stones, also known depending on their location as renal stones or ureteric stones.
For stones in the kidney or its drain pipe (ureter), he is accomplished at rigid ureteroscopy, flexible ureteroscopy and flexible pyeloscopy, combined with laser lithotripsy and basket stone extraction.
Dr Kinnear also regularly performs percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) for large kidney stones, and undertook additional training in this procedure in Mercy University Hospital, Cork, Ireland
